Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms is to set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Company and members, and other necessary matters, in connection with the use of the Service provided by the Company.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. “Service” means the CronKey app, the CronKey keyboard that can be used in other apps, and their related features.
  2. “Member” means a person who has agreed to these Terms and signed up with phone verification.
  3. “AI features” means features that produce results using artificial intelligence, such as ✦ AI sentence suggestions, translation, spell check, 🎤 voice input, 🖼 photo-based reply suggestions, 💬 chat (AI friend “CronKey”) and 😊 custom emoticon creation.

Article 3 (Posting and amendment of the Terms)

  1. The Company posts these Terms in the app and on this page.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that applicable laws are not violated. When it does, it will announce the effective date and the reasons starting 7 days before the effective date (30 days before for changes unfavorable to members).
  3. Members who do not agree to the amended Terms may delete their account. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date is deemed to be agreement to the amended Terms.

Article 4 (Sign-up)

  1. Sign-up is completed when you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy and either tap “Start” in the app (as a guest) or complete phone verification. A guest account is tied to its device, so you may not be able to keep using it if you delete the app or change devices.
  2. Persons under 14 may not sign up.
  3. Use may be restricted if you sign up with another person's mobile phone number or register false information.

Article 5 (Account management)

Members must manage their own phone and account and must not let others use them. If you find out that your account has been used without permission, please notify the Company immediately.

Article 6 (Services provided)

The Company provides the following services.

  1. CronKey keyboard: multiple languages and input methods (Dubeolsik, Cheonjiin, QWERTY, etc.), keyboard themes (including My Photo Theme), key sounds and haptics
  2. AI features: ✦ AI sentence suggestions, translation, spell check, 🎤 voice input, 🖼 photo-based reply suggestions, 💬 chat and 😊 custom emoticon creation

  4. Friends: finding and adding friends by friend ID and, when the member wishes, finding friends who use CronKey by the phone numbers in the member's contacts
  5. Spell check using the device's spell checker before signing in or before confirming the AI usage notice
  6. Other services that the Company additionally develops or provides through partnerships

The Service is currently provided free of charge. If paid services are introduced, the Company will announce the prices and conditions in advance and obtain separate consent.

Article 7 (Notes on using AI features)

AI features send the relevant content (text, voice, photos) through the Company's servers to the AI processor (Google) to produce results, and only when you tap a button. For details, please see the Privacy Policy.
  1. Results created by AI (suggested sentences, translations, transcriptions, replies, chat answers, emoticons) may be inaccurate or inappropriate, and members must check the content before sending it.
  2. “CronKey” in 💬 chat is an AI, not a person. If an answer is offensive, harmful or untrue, please let us know with ⋮ › Report on the chat screen. The Company reviews reports and takes the necessary action.
  3. To keep the Service safe, the Company may automatically check text sent to AI features and may decline to process harmful or inappropriate requests.
  4. When making an emoticon from another person's photo, you must obtain that person's permission, and you must not create or distribute emoticons that infringe others' portrait rights, copyrights or trademarks.
  5. AI results do not replace professional advice, such as medical, legal or financial advice.
  6. Please take care not to send text or photos containing other people's personal or sensitive information to AI features.
  7. The Company may limit how many times AI features can be used in order to keep the Service stable.

Article 8 (Keyboard and permissions)

  1. To use CronKey, you must add the keyboard in your device settings, and on iPhone “Allow Full Access” is required to use AI features, haptics and settings.
  2. The Company does not collect what you type with the keyboard.

Members must not do any of the following.

  1. Steal other people's information or register false information
  2. Impersonate others or use offensive expressions in their nickname or friend ID
  3. Use the Service to harass others, or create or distribute abusive, hateful, obscene or illegal content
  4. Infringe other people's rights (copyright, portrait rights, personal information, etc.)
  5. Place an excessive load on, or interfere with, the Service using automated programs or other means
  6. Disassemble or modify the Service, or use it commercially without the Company's permission
  7. Otherwise violate applicable laws or these Terms

Article 10 (Rights to content)

  1. The rights to, and responsibility for, the text, voice and photos that members enter or send to AI features belong to the member.
  2. The Company does not use members' content for any purpose other than producing the results of AI features.
  3. Members may freely use the custom emoticons they make and are responsible for that use. The default emoticons may be used for sending messages within the Service.
  4. The rights to the Service's software, design, trademarks, key sounds and so on belong to the Company or their rightful owners.

Article 11 (Changes to and suspension of the Service)

The Company may change or suspend all or part of the Service when necessary for operational or technical reasons and will give notice in advance. If this is unavoidable, however, notice may be given afterwards. Article 13 (Limitation of liability)

  1. The Company is not liable for disruptions caused by reasons beyond its control, such as natural disasters, network failures, or the circumstances of third parties such as operating systems, app marketplaces and AI processors.
  2. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy of AI results and, to the extent permitted by law, is not liable for damages arising from a member sending results without checking them.
  3. The Company is not liable for disruptions caused by a member's own fault.

Article 14 (Privacy)

The Company protects members' personal information in accordance with applicable laws and the Privacy Policy.

Article 15 (App marketplace terms)

  1. The license to use the iPhone app is governed by both the Apple App Store terms (Licensed Application End User License Agreement) and these Terms.
  2. These Terms are an agreement between the Company and the member, and Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service or its content. The Company is responsible for maintaining and supporting the Service, handling product claims, and responding to claims of intellectual property infringement.
  3. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once a member agrees to these Terms, may enforce them against the member.

Article 16 (Governing law and dispute resolution)

These Terms are interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes related to the use of the Service are resolved in the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
